The Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 requires
Somerset Medical Center, as a health care provider, to maintain policies and
procedures that contain detailed information about federal and state laws that
address fraud, waste and abuse in federal health care programs. The law also
requires that these policies be available and applicable to medical center
contractors and agents. To that end, vendors and other contracted agents should
access the policy below and make it available to their employees.
As a Somerset Medical
Center contractor or agent, you are required to review, become familiar with and
abide by our False
Claims Act (FCA) policy.
Under the FCA, it is a violation to knowingly submit a false
claim to the government. All employees, contractors or agents of Somerset
Medical Center with knowledge of potential fraud and abuse situations must
report such situations through either of the following methods:
Contact Somerset Medical Center's Compliance
Officer/Corporate Compliance Office at 908-704-3799 or call the confidential Somerset
Medical Center Compliance Hotline at 1-877-888-4810.
Retaliation or retribution for reporting issues "in good faith"
is prohibited at Somerset Medical Center.
It also is important to be familiar with Somerset Medical
Center's Corporate Compliance Program and to uphold and comply with the
standards outlined in our Code of Ethical Conduct.
Should you desire additional information about our Corporate
Compliance Program, please contact our Compliance Officer at
908-704-3799.
