The Department of Life Support Training offers a variety of classes, including three levels of CPR classes in conjunction with the American Heart Assocation:
- BLS for Healthcare Providers - For health care providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course.
- Heartsaver CPR - For those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.
- CPR for Family and Friends - For family members, friends and members of the community who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card.
All CPR courses reflect the most current techniques found in the American Heart Association’s Guidelines. Some course schedules have changed to reflect the new guidelines, so please download the most current registration forms to register.
For more information about these courses or for help selecting the course that is right for you, please view the Course Matrix. For further information, e-mail or call the Life Support Training Center at 908-685-2970.
All programs are held at Somerset Medical Center unless otherwise indicated (Directions). Please note: Somerset Medical Center's main campus includes two parking decks. Please use the Post Avenue Parking Deck to access the Emergency Department and Diabetes Center, the North Lot for Somerset Family Practice, and the Rehill Avenue Deck for all other areas.
